We collect only data needed for purchases, licensing, refunds, and support:

• Identity and contact data (name, email address)
• Transaction data (order details, payment status, refund status)
• License and activation data (license key status, one-device activation state)
• Support data (emails and files you send us for support)
• Update delivery request data handled by GitHub (for example IP and request metadata)

We do not collect your screenshots, clipboard contents, or local file contents.

• Purchase and license delivery (name, email, order data): perform our contract with you (GDPR/UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)).
• License activation and one-device enforcement: perform our contract (Article 6(1)(b)) and legitimate interests in preventing abuse (Article 6(1)(f)).
• Refund handling and fraud prevention: perform our contract (Article 6(1)(b)) and legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f)).
• Support communications: perform our contract for product support (Article 6(1)(b)) and legitimate interests in customer service (Article 6(1)(f)).

We use specific service providers to run Clippery operations:

• Polar: payment processing, order management, licensing, and refund workflows.
• GitHub: software update/release hosting and update delivery for the app updater.

These providers process personal data on our behalf or as independent recipients for the services they provide.

Your data may be processed in countries outside your own, including outside the EEA or UK.

Where required, we use appropriate safeguards, such as adequacy decisions and contractual safeguards (for example, Standard Contractual Clauses and UK transfer addendum/IDTA) when transferring personal data internationally.

Purchase, licensing, and support-related data is required for us to provide core services.

If you do not provide required purchase/licensing data, we cannot complete your order, issue or validate your license, process refunds, or provide license recovery/transfer support.

• Purchase/accounting records: retained as required by tax and accounting laws (typically up to 7 years).
• License activation records: retained while your license remains active and as needed to prevent abuse and support transfers.
• Support correspondence: retained only as long as reasonably needed to resolve and document support matters.
